Think of this as an intergalactic costume experience that blends the fashion and creativity of AfroPunk, St Anne Parade, Met Gala, Burning Man and Rio Carnival but hosted in New Orleans at cocktail bars with a instagram aesthetic.
We invite guests who we think would share in the joy of planning a costume and getting dressed up to celebrate the carnival season.

Get creative and have fun with color, prints, sequins, sparkle and textures.

The category is a guide for your costume but how you execute the theme is up to your interpretation of it. You do not have to take the theme literally, take whatever design elements from it that speak to you.
Quick Style Tips:
Do - wear some type of creative headpiece to complete the look.
Do - the MOST. Bring your main character energy.
Don’t - wear any denim, joggers or purple, green and gold Mardi Gras striped shirts, jackets or themed accessories
Most importantly, it goes without saying … but please don’t commit to attending and not put any effort into your costume. Every year the ladies put a lot of time and energy into crafting a unique costume. We know you are fly as F*ck, so don’t be the one underdressed. Trust, it’s so much more fun when everyone goes all out.

It costs money to make this happen. All of the money collected is exhausted on the event’s expenses to curate a memorable and seamless experience for the group.
This event was started in pure fun and we hope to maintain that quality even as we continue to grow each year.
In the past we have charged more per person but we have included open bar and food options. This year we opted for a nominal fee and cash bar.
It’s our 4th year and we are constantly tweaking this till we get it right.
Thank you for seeing the vision and saying yes to celebrating with us without hesitation.

The JDV hosts curate the guest list based on degree of separation, shared creative interest and vibes.
Each year we select a maximum guest count to ensure that we all have a seamless experience. The guest list is by invitation only so unfortunately plus ones are not allowed.
The objective is to bring the right group of ladies together to create a beautiful and memorable celebration of extravagance.
JDV24 is a safe space and welcoming environment for you to be your most creative and authentic self.
So bring your flyest costume and innermost badass energy on Feb9.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
